In news that is sure to erase all discomfort from the cardiac problems, his deft portrayal of which endeared him to millions as Denny Duquette on ABC’s Gray’s Anatomy, it seems Jeffrey Dean Morgan has just secured a major new role as a Dad.

US Magazine informs us the 42-year old Actor recently learned he has a 4-year old son from a lusty liaison with Actress and Movie Producer, Sherrie Rose. Father and Son have since been introduced and Mr. Morgan made it clear that he plans to be an ongoing feature in the little man’s life. “He’s shocked and surprised, but he wants to be in the child’s life,” a well-informed source told reporters.

Apart from this unexpectedly fruitful assignation with Ms. Rose, 43, the WatchMen star has also been linked, and was even briefly engaged to Mary-Louise Parker (in photo right), who, like Madonna, adopted a child of her own from a poor town in Africa. The couple encountered each other while working on the Showtime series, Weeds, but their engagement sadly foundered in 2008.

The name of the child is, as yet, unknown, but we’ll keep you updated as new details arrive.
